Oh Why Hello Melbourne Town!

First may I say what a lazy blogger I have been! Now the guilt is over with here is the Blog! Earlier this month me and some dear friends ventured to Melbourne for a week of food, shopping, footy and taking all of Melbourne....well as much as possible! Let me say I had never been to Melbourne and I did love it big time. A lovely city full of history, vintage, gluten free food, art, lovely people and amazing little treasures hidden! I have a small collection of some food highlights and let me say if I had a good reason and was cool enough I'd move to Melbourne for the Gluten Free Choice they have really embraced the Coeliac diet! Such diverse options and everyone in hospitality knows what it is and can tell you and explain the things you can eat at their eatery. I really appreciated that because you don't get that type of range, knowledge and understanding in Perth.

This was my first breakfast in Melbourne! Oh and of course my first Earl Grey! Oh my was it the best thing I had eaten for a long time. We arrived in Melbourne just before 6 am, it was freezing and we couldn't check into our room until about 10am. We walked from Docklands to Bourke Street in search of somewhere open to eat. We stumbled across a lovely little French bakery that smelt amazing and looked so cute :-). It was warm and inviting ( but I think anything would be at that hour and in 2 degree weather). It was just what we needed and made me feel so warm and happy and set me in a super mood, like oh  I'm in Melbourne I'm so lucky- Imagine me with Snow Whites blue birds circling around my head hehe and I will neither admit or deny skipping away from the bakery.

This next place we went was AMAZING... well maybe not Joshua's meal -sorry Josh :-(
It was called Berth in Docklands it was situated on the water and it was so lovely inside, staff were friendly and knew all about gluten free! I choose the Lamb Shanks, best move ever! They just fell off the bone and oh just thinking about it I want more. So I would recommend Berth big time. We didn't book, it was a Sunday night, we waited maybe 5 minutes and meals came out pretty quick. This made us decide to splurge and get dessert, I choose the white chocolate brulee (gluten free) again best choice it was amazingly good!

The next day we decided to hit Flinders Lane and shop the city, but first we needed some energy. We choose Cafe Andiamo, the service wasn't very good but the chai tea was so good. I had been craving one all trip and finally after a long wait I received an extremely delicious Chai  oh my my. Josh had a wonderful looking Burger too, he said it was pretty good.

Please note just how good it was, I drank most then was like oh dear need to take a photo... then thought do I really need too haha.

On my way to Fitzroy and Jessie's ( Joshua's beautiful twin sister) house (Check out her lovely little blog Jessie's Blog) Jessie and I grabbed a delicious meal from a gluten free and vego eatery in Flinders Lane. I got a Pumpkin soup, now I love Pumpkin soup and this was the best, most mouth watering soup I have ever had. I didn't catch the name as I nearly fell over when I put the first scoop in my mouth!! Its so good, let me just say if I had to choose either this beautiful Pumpkin Soup lunch everyday or whenever I needed my fix or Kate Nash's Pumpkin Soup ( one of my fav songs)  I wouldn't be able to listen to it again. I would be very tempted to choose the Pumpkin soup, I know your laughing what really Adelle thats ridiculous but my logic is simple. I can sing Kate's Pumpkin Soup  every lyric is in my head BUT I will never be able to make Pumpkin Soup like that talented Lady down Flinders Lane!

I think you'll agree I may have a major crush on Pumpkin Soup and on Melbourne food. I will share a little more in a little while.

Pan-cake addiction

So Josh and I have slowly become addicted/depended on eating Gluten free pancakes for Breakfast on weekends. And its hard to say but Josh usually does a better job on the pancakes than me. So I let him make the pancakes most of the time but this particular Saturday I thought you know lets just see how good I can make these pancakes. The pancakes Josh usually makes for scratch but sometimes when we are in a hurry or want them quickly (sometimes I get the urged for pancakes- who doesnt!) we use macros buttermilk pancakes. This saturday I used the pancake mix as I love the taste the buttermilk is to die for, now I don't have tickets on myself but I think the pancakes I made were just brilliant. They looked and tasted Amazing! I must confuse I had four on my plate but went back for two more haha, all I can say is I am thankful Joshua wasn't wanting them or I would of possibly had to fight to the death for those delicious pancakes. Speaking of pancakes I think I am feeling them right now, lucky I am on holidays as I can have them for lunch. This is a healthy lunch don't you think hehe.

I have two pictures to share- do yourself a gluten free favour and buy the mix :-)

Curry time

Rachelle and I decided to make dinner for our Fellas. Curry was the name of the night and we decided to make a mussaman curry and a lovely spicy chicken curry. Rachelle braved making a gluten free naan bread for us which was amazing. The house smelled like curry and was so good when the boys got home from the football. Their little faces smiled and you could see the excitement of what they were about to encounter. We got a few brownie points for our curry efforts, and Rachelle gets a few more for the amazing naan bread. I do have a pretty impressive, sweet best friend. I must say I am head over heels for Curry and this night was no exception. I get full but I don't/ can't stop eating it, and yes I might get fat but at least I have eaten some AMAZING curries.

Ruby moments

A short time ago I held my first Ruby Ellen Vintage Party. Its a collection of my vintage treasures I have collected, it combines my love of Vintage and people. It was a successful afternoon, and my best friend Rachelle came to support me with a lovely batch of Gluten Free white chocolate melting moments. They were to die for, she is pretty talented in the kitchen.

Rachelle is such a sweetie she always knows how to support me with yummy treats hehe!  They only took her 20 minutes to whip up which is great if your on the run to a tea catch up with a gal pal. I think they'd be the perfect match for a lovely high time party :-)

The pictures below are of the Ruby Ellen store I had a great time and can't wait for the next one!

I feel Ruby will be eating a lot of lovely things next time round.
